Bruce Spiering Perhaps my expectations were too high for the price. Three pipes, three bolts, two set screws and a plastic base. Extending and dropping the pole is manual and definitely a two person job for someone lacking arm and hand strength. Otherwise it does the job of holding up a twelve room martin house. Mine recently survived several days of stormy weather with winds up to 20mph.

Thanks Heidi! Actually the manufacturer sets the pricing and won't allow anyone to sell below their established price so it sounds like someone on Amazon is acting unethically.

Joseph & Anne The telescoping pole we purchased from Wild Bird Store is just as promised. Easily put together; the only modification was to purchase bolts to slide into place that were longer and did not need to be attached with a nut, thus making raising and lowering the pole a bit easier. It is strong and the bird house is firmly fixed to the pole. We are very happy with the pole and its workings. The Purple Martin house we bought is also great.

Michael K. Easy to install. I am able to lower it by myself for weekly house checks. Would be nice if they did something to the lower pole to reduce the house turning but it is only a minor issue that I will fix. Has been a windy season and it’s held up nicely. Plan to get another one for next year.

Kristin Zolltheis It is a very nice birdhouse. The big problem, though, is that the telescopic pole is missing the hardware. When it arrived, the box was torn on both ends. I don't know what happened in shipping. My husband just opened this for his Christmas present, so I was unable to review sooner. Please confirm that you will be sending us the needed hardware ASAP. Travis Eubanks The base is strong. The instructions were easy to follow. The pole is segmented, but it is not designed for telescoping. The support bolts force you to remove the pieces. You could remove the support bolts to force the telescoping function, but that's not recommended.

Best decision and best purchase ever! We also bought the recommended pole and put it where it can be seen from inside our house because it is such a great looking bird house.

M H Ferkett My son and 2 young grandchildren put the Martin house together and will put it up on their Wisconsin farm. It was a gift from me and I won't see it until next summer, when hopefully it will be occupied by Purple Martins
