The Seed Hoop - Seed Catcher and Platform Bird Feeder

I'm sure it would work perfectly but the squirrel detached it every time. It is hanging from one strap.

We needed to find something to catch the bird seed that they throw to the ground and so far the seed catcher is working well. It fit perfect on the feeder and was easy to install.

Terrible. No matter what we did, it ended up lopsided and was very messy. Ended up in the garbage. Would not recommend.

I’ve used the seed hoops for several years. They keep the vast majority of seed and hulls from hitting the ground, making it much easier to keep the areas below the feeders clean. The birds love them too. Gives them a nice perch and more chances to get food from the hoop that got past the feeders.

I have a feeder shaped like a milk can. The birds were always throwing out the pieces of the seed they didn't want, making a mess on my patio. I decided to switch to No Waste bird seed but the birds continued to throw the seed out, again making a mess on my patio. With the use of the Seed Hoop any seed they throw out lands on the hoop. I have seen birds sitting in the hoop eating the seed. Regardless what type of seed I buy in the future it will not be wasted on the ground but saved on the hoop and eaten by my feathered friends

The two seed hoops I purchased are working beautifully! No more mess on the deck below my bird feeders. I’m so pleased with the product and how it was delivered.

Just what I was looking for so seeds don’t end on the ground and sprout and dogs don’t eat the corn. Great purchase.

The hoop was exactly what I was looking for and my son (the recipient) was delighted. However, I was unhappy that - even though my confirmation email said I would be notified when the item shipped, and I asked a couple times when it was going to ship - I did not find out it had actually shipped until it had already been delivered. This is a problem because we have had a history of packages going missing at his location, so clear communication about ETA is important. Hopefully the Wild Bird Store Online can fix that

The hoop has been effective in catching seed, however I would not say it works with all feeders. I had to buy a new feeder with a heavier lid as the metal hooks continued to detach from my tube feeder and open the lid and dump all the seed on the ground. I hadn’t planned on purchasing a new feeder. The bigger feeder seems to be holding the hoop in place. I also experienced the same problem in placing a rock in the center and like an earlier review the rock slipped to one side and the wind caused the rock to fall out.

The seed catcher is working well to keep the seed from falling onto the ground. Birds like sitting on it too. Very happy with the purchase. The order came quickly.

Works like a charm

I hunted for a seed catcher that had a hole in the middle b/c I was using it for a feeder I have on a pole. This one came with no hole. It’s a nice seeed catcher if you just want to hang it off of your hanging bird feeder.

My husband was complaining because the seeds were ruining the lawn. This seed catcher was the perfect compromise. The birds & squirrels get into the net and eat the seeds that fall. Then once a week I tilt the net and the seed waste falls right into a bag. Easy as pie! And rain is not a problem at all it goes right through the net and the seeds dry quickly. I highly recommend!

I had been thinking about how we could make something to attach to our feeder pole to catch seed because there always seemed to be so much of it on the ground making a big mess. I saw this seed hoop and thought I'd give it a shot. It is definitely helping to catch most of the overflow, and we've had a few really windy days that it weathered just fine. The birds also seem to enjoy getting on it and eating up the overflow seeds, so if you use waste free seed there is very little cleaning needed. My only suggestion would be to make a third slightly larger size to accommodate larger shepherd hooks. The outer edge of my feeders are right above the outer edge of the hoop, so some overflow is still hitting the ground. Overall, this is a great little item though. Highly recommend.

I placed a seed catcher on both my mixed seed feeder and suet feeder. A great improvement! Very little seed falls to the ground now and the catcher platform provides a secondary feeding station for larger birds without disturbing the smaller birds at the weight excluding feeding ports. It has also greatly decreased the amount of time chipmunks and squirrels congregate below the feeder.

Generally works fine. Does require frequent adjusting as large birds tilt the net.

I checked local bird & pet stores, hardwares stores and couldn’t find this item or substitute for it... item was great, quality great and delivery fast and easy... definitely deserved 5 stars!

I think this is going to work perfectly. I needed to keep the rats out of my yard. It should prevent the seeds from falling on the ground. Also will keep the squirrels out. The birds are just now finding my feeders again.

Attaches easily, very simple to adjust length, best of all minimum amount of sunflower shells on my deck! Most pleased, great idea.
