We live in an area where Starlings are quite prevalent. Consequently, when the Martin houses are open for the season we get not only Sparrows, but we get a lot of Starlings also. Unfortunately, both of the birds like the Martin houses as much as the Martins. To give the Martins a chance, the crescent doors are excellent at keeping the Starlings away. The size and shape are just the right size to allow the Martins to enter and exit but prevent then starlings from entering. Awesome. The Sparrows are still an issue, but that’s another story for another day. I highly recommend the crescent doors.
