Birds Choice Hanging Classic Feeder w/ Baffle/Weatherguard

My second one. It's great. Large capacity comes in handy, especially in spring when the birds are all trying to feed themselves and their offspring.

Adjusting the rain baffle low above the feeding ports not only does an excellent job of keeping the seeds dry in windy rain but also confounds the large birds who otherwise keep the songbirds from getting to the food. The big birds learn to wait on the ground for the seeds the smaller birds scatter under the feeder.

The top lid comes off, making it easy to refill and makes periodic cleaning of the inside of the tube pretty straightforward.

My biggest problem is that the plastic baffle seems to be less UV-resistant than the feeder tube, and the baffles tend to become brittle after a few years. I'm currently experimenting with a clear spray-on UV protector. Worth a try.

The birds love it but the squirrels can’t get to it. The feeder’s smooth shape and the baffle cause the squirrels to give up!

This was very easy to put together. (Not true of all feeders.) Once it was up, the smaller birds easily found it and started to eat. However, I think they are not as fond of this one as they are of some of the other hopper-feeders--but because that could be my choice of food, and thus my error, I give the feeder a large benefit of the doubt. I would, in fact, probably buy another one.

This is the best feeder I’ve ever had! Built sturdy, easy to fill, and the squirrel guard really works! Highly recommend!

This is the only feeder I've found that actually keeps seed dry during a Pacific Northwest winter! I love it and the birds do too. Plus I just moved to a place with squirrels and despite their attempts, they have not been able to get to the seed.

I had one of these for years. I love it because it holds so much seed, it's easy to fill and clean. The birds love it.... and the squirrels try but are unsuccessful After so many years it yellowed, and the bottom got rough.. I decided to treat myself to a new one. I couldn't find it anywhere and was so pleased to see it on the Wild Bird Store website.

I really like them! I don't have squirrel problems I have black bird problems. They consume the feeders and all the little birds can't get in. I set it to wear it is to hard for the black birds to get in and all my little birds are happy as can be!
